Painter

Lynn Zachreson

A breeze stirs red leaves,

in their dance, I find my pulse—

nature whispers “you."

My work reflects the deep connection I feel to the natural world, inspired by the interplay of form, color, texture, and light. Each painting is my attempt to express the simplicity and profound beauty I find in nature, capturing the subtle shifts of color that emerge when I pause to observe—whether in the way light dances across a leaf or the graceful curves of the human form. When the painting achieves a sense of balance—like the wild world feels—I know it is done. Through my art, I seek to reveal this quiet, living energy, where life, in all its complexity and grace, is made visible in the smallest of details.

Lynn Zachreson has been painting in watercolor and oil for nearly 50 years. From Minnesota, she moved to Santa Cruz County, CA, in 1982 and earned a BA in Fine Arts from San Jose State University. Zachreson’s work has been featured in national and international juried exhibitions, including the 1995 Global Focus: Women in Art & Culture at the United Nations 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing. In the early 1990s, she collaborated with a group of Santa Cruz-based artists working from live models, refining her focus on botanicals and the female form. In 2011, Zachreson hiked the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. She currently lives and works in Sebastopol, California, where she paints and teaches watercolor.
